A small road leads to the natural bay of Zavalatica two kilometers from Cara. The shore is now built-up with big modern houses. It was the favorite summer resort of the Korcula poet Petar Kanavelic, who had one of his residences here, at the very end of the bay. A modern restaurant whit two large terraces has been built high above the sea and is an ideal place for trying local specialties and viewing the open sea. Zavalatica is an urbanized bay and little fishing port / harbour on the southern part of the Island of Korcula. It is located about 27 Km West from Korcula Old Town and 2 km South of from village of Cara (Chara). Small asphalted road leads from Cara through the vine and olive groves of Carsko Polje to Zavalatica. It is very flat road, as field through which it is passing is very flat and fertile land. In Zavalatica one can find a nice restaurant with large terraces right by the sea. This is a very beautiful place to sit and watch the open and mighty sea in front of you.
